Trusted Edge Extends Policy-Driven Records Management and Asset Classification for Enterprise Vault 8.0 Users to the “Edge”
Rockville, MD, May 7, 2009 – FileTek, Inc., a pioneer developer of high-volume data management and information governance solutions, announces the release of FileTek Trusted Edge® Information Classification Engine (ICE) 3.4 for use with Symantec Enterprise Vault™ 8.0. Trusted Edge ICE is best-practices, information classification and asset management software that cost-effectively extends enterprise content management policies, including content classification, collection, and disposition, to information created at the network’s “edge” – on user laptops, desktops and file shares – where more than 80% of electronic information originates and resides.Trusted Edge ICE provides a comprehensive set of features, including a policy-driven engine, sophisticated classification options, and auto-tagging with asset branding technology to enforce classification of email and documents created and stored on the “edge.” Trusted Edge takes a proactive approach to digital risk management by classifying, tagging, and defining document retention schedules at asset creation and digitally shredding content only when the action is deemed safe and appropriate. Trusted Edge delivers content to Enterprise Vault as the repository of record and optionally retains convenience copies or desktop shortcuts on user workstations or other locations. The solution provides a cost-effective return on investment (ROI) by culling irrelevant information before archiving to lower storage and storage management costs; mitigating risk and ensuring compliance by enforcing appropriate content retention and disposition schedules; and increasing productivity through comprehensive capture, organization, and structure of all information.
