The Growing Challenge to Store and Access Fixed Content Data

Many organizations see the technological and business need to move fixed content data such as electronic business documents, relational data, broadcast information, final CAD/CAM designs, and X-rays to special purpose, affordable, high-performance storage. To date, EMC's Centera™ Content Addressed Storage-based approach to accomplish this goal has won worldwide accolades. Now FileTek, Inc., has added EMC Centera to the StorHouse® hierarchy of supported devices. This addition enables applications without an embedded Centera interface to use StorHouse to cost-effectively archive and retrieve a virtually unlimited number of fixed content files to and from Centera and other StorHouse-supported storage devices.

StorHouse is FileTek's award-winning and proven software for managing gigabytes to petabytes of relational and non-relational data. StorHouse provides a comprehensive storage hierarchy and a variety of data interfaces, including file system and direct Structured Query Language (SQL) access to data on any storage layer, including tape.

StorHouse for EMC Centera is ideal for fixed content applications that want to complement their Centera storage environment with tape. StorHouse for EMC Centera provides an economical solution with high data availability and extended recovery features to ensure business continuance.

StorHouse also can act as a database extension for the most popular databases such as Oracle®, DB2 UDB™, and SQL Server™. With StorHouse, SQL queries directly access relational data on Centera, in addition to alternative media.
