Storage Machine System Administration

Duration: 2 days

This course describes how to define and perform Storage Machine security, backup, recovery, and migration functions and procedures. It covers the Storage Machine's Volume Storage Allocation and Control software, which allocates and manages files on multi-level storage. The course includes hands-on exercises.

Prerequisites: Storage Machine Concepts and Operations

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of this course the students will:

• Understand the use of multi-level storage management



• Identify files, groups, and versions



• Understand the concepts of Volume Set and File Set



• Understand the directory structures maintained by the Storage Machine software



• Issue basic commands to request information from the Storage Machine



• Understand steps to backup and recovery individual files and volumes



• Become familiar with system backup and recovery procedures
