Generic Callable Interface Course for Programmers

This course explains the C language API function calls that enable an application program to read from and write to non-relational files stored on StorHouse (or Storage Machine). It covers sequential and VRAM (Virtual Record Access Manager) file processing. Course material includes a Programmer's Guide containing examples of the functions.

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of this course the students will:

  • Identify the components of the StorHouse host software interface


  • Understand the functionality of the LSMCALL function


  • Establish a session link between an application and StorHouse


  • Open and close and transfer files or records with a program


  • Retrieve text messages with the EMSG function


  • Execute SM administrative commands from a program


  • Calculate sizes of files to be stored on StorHouse
