Chairman of the Board
William C. Thompson.
Mr. Thompson is a senior corporate executive and successful venture capitalist with
over 40 years of computer industry experience. In 1975, he helped jump-start the
Greater Washington, D.C. area's strong information technology sector when he founded
Centennial Computer Corporation. He has been President of that company ever since.
In 1984, Mr. Thompson founded FileTek, Inc., where he currently serves as Chairman of the Board. Since then, he has engaged in other successful entrepreneurial activities in the Washington, DC area, including investing in and serving as a board member of C3, Inc., a federal government systems integrator, and Telic Services Corporation, a telephone industry software and services company, which was sold to Computer Sciences Corporation in 1991.
Other career highlights include being Executive Vice-President of Federal Data Corporation and District Sales and Regional Technical Manager of Control Data Corporation. In addition, Mr. Thompson was a Captain in the U.S. Air Force, where he served as a pilot and computer systems analyst.
Mr. Thompson holds a B.S. in mathematics from the University of New Mexico and an M.S. in statistics and data processing from Stanford University. He is also a graduate of the Stanford Business School's Executive Program for Smaller Companies.
Other Board Members
William P. Loomis. Mr. Loomis has over 25 years’ experience in high technology finance, management, and administration. He joined FileTek in 1987 and was elected Chief Executive Officer in March 2007. He has been a member of FileTek's Board of Directors since June 2003.
Mr. Loomis was FileTek's Chief Operating Officer from January 2001 through March 2007. Mr. Loomis has also been FileTek’s Chief Financial Officer Since July 1990. In addition, he has been Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Centennial Computer Corporation, a specialized financial services company for the computer hardware and software industries. Prior to Centennial, he was with the public accounting firm of Ernst and Young.
In June 2006, Mr. Loomis was appointed Chief Financial Officer for Clearview Software, an company specializing in Enterprise Content Management solutions. He has been a member of the Clearview Board of Directors since May 2006.
Mr. Loomis, a Certified Public Accountant and an Elijah Watts Sells National Award Winner, holds a B.S. in Business Administration (magna cum laude) from the University of Maryland and an M.B.A. from Virginia Tech. In addition to his corporate responsibilities, he serves on a number of committees and boards for technology councils and professional and academic organizations.
Lewis S. Frauenfelder.
Mr. Frauenfelder has served as a member of our board of directors since March 1993.
He has over 30 years’ experience in the data storage industry.
Currently he is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Rebit, Inc., a data backup company.
Mr. Frauenfelder was the founder, President and Chief Operating Executive Officer of the highly successful
Benchmark Tape Systems Corporation, a magnetic tape storage company, from April 1998 to January 2003.
Mr. Frauenfelder served as President and CEO of DataSonix from March 1995 to May 1996. Prior to DataSonix,
he was President and CEO of Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. from 1990 through March 1995. Formerly, he was President and CEO of Intellistor, a company he founded in 1983. Before founding Intellistor, he was Vice President of Engineering at Storage Technology Corporation, and prior to that, he spent ten years at IBM in design and management positions for data storage products. Mr. Frauenfelder holds Bachelors and Masters degrees of Science in Electrical Engineering.
