FileTek Appoints David Clements Director of Business Development

Rockville, MD (May 2, 2000) - FileTek, Inc. today announced the appointment of David Clements as Director of Business Development. FileTek is the developer of StorHouse®, a software database product for mass storage. Mr. Clements will work out of the company's Santa Ynez, California office.

Mr. Clements, who has over thirty years' experience in the information technology industry, comes to FileTek after 12 years with Teradata Corporation. There, he specialized in providing companies with database solutions for marketing and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) initiatives. Prior to Teradata, Mr. Clements worked at Cincom Systems, Inc., and IBM. A Marine Corps veteran, Mr. Clements holds an undergraduate degree from San Francisco State University.

"Dave comes to us with a high level of technical knowledge plus the experience to apply that knowledge to move the company's goals forward," said Rob Simonds, FileTek's Vice President of Marketing. "To do this, he will focus on helping FileTek market its products through partner channels. These include, among others, Independent Software Vendors (ISV) and Application Service Providers (ASP). StorHouse is the only storage management system incorporating a relational database capability that allows direct access to rows stored across all storage media (e.g., tape, RAID, optical). FileTek designed StorHouse to manage terabytes to petabytes of enterprise-wide atomic or detailed data, enabling the storage and exploitation of exhaustive business information, such as: Internet clickstream detail data, telephone call details, market basket data, and financial transactions.
